Come see my show at Deer Run Art and Artifacts (in The Garden Shed) in Cambria (map).

The Cambria Art and Wine Festival takes place the first weekend of the show: January 27th through Sunday the 29th. I’ll be there on Saturday January 28th from 2 to 4. Stop by, see the paintings, and share a glass of wine!

Naked Lunch: The final plate

A fun little painting for Dining In Public project, an offshoot of Reading In Public. Art, food and literature.

From their site:

The exhibit will be driven by a set of hand painted plates, each bearing the title and author’s name of a book which has a connection with food.

When: Friday, December 2nd and Saturday 10th, 2011, from 6-9pm – Dining in Public (DIP), a multi-course, free-range event exploring the connection between belly, mind and funny bone. An exhibit goes up on Friday 2nd and our live event will be on Saturday 10th from 6-9pm. At ARTS Space Obispo, 570 Higuera St., #165 in SLO.

Bungalows and cottages

Houses were my first love when I started to paint. I chose the quiet ones, the ones that hadn’t been repainted of fluffed. I was happiest when a painting came out so that you couldn’t even tell what year it was. Timeless, peaceful, sunny Old California.

People who have bought these paintings say that they reminded them of their Grandma’s house, or a place they stayed when they were kids. I think that’s what I’m reaching for… those Sunday afternoon places.
